Alexandra (Alex) Peterson (COM 06) grew up in New Jersey and majored in Public Relations and double-minored in Marketing and Latin American Studies at Boston University.
At BU, Alex was involved in the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), serving first as member and subsequently as President of the Edward L. Bernays chapter. Alex was a competitive figure skater throughout college, competing nationally and internationally with a national team in Rhode Island. She used her on-ice skills as part of one of BU's intramural broomball teams, Team Inigo Montoya.
Alex joined Shadows in 2002 as a crew member, involved in producing, directing, costumes, and sets. She produced the series from 2003-2004. She gave a cameo appearance in episode 36, "The Agency".
After graduating, Alex worked in London for UIP doing motion picture events and public relations before moving home to New York City. Back in New York, Alex joined Emanate, an Omnicom PR agency and conflict shop to Ketchum, at the agency's inception, working in financial services PR before moving into business development and marketing for the firm. In 2011, Alex left Emanate to join MSLGROUP Americas, a Publicis Groupe agency, in a business development role.
Alex currently resides in Brooklyn, NY with the love of her life and their two cats. Alex is co-chair of American Friends of Beit Issie Shapiro's Generation Next, the young professionals chapter of AFOBIS, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds to further the development and servicing of children and adults with developmental disabilities around the world.
